St. Mary School System is seeking qualified guidance counselors to promote the academic, social, spiritual, and personal development of
students in our middle and high school.
The successful candidate should:
- Hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
- Hold a School Counselor Certificate.
- Demonstrate positive interpersonal relations with students, parents/guardians.
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrate strong record keeping and documentation.
- Accept extra assignments positively and willingly.
- Support and implements the mission/philosophy of Catholic education and the school.
- Give evidence of lived Gospel values.
Job duties may include:
- Working to support students dealing with academic, social, emotional, or behavioral issues.

Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and parents to create and implement intervention strategies for students in need of support.
- Conducting assessments and evaluations to identify students' strengths, challenges, and areas for growth.

Serving as a resource for students seeking information on post-secondary education options, including college admissions and financial aid.
- Maintaining accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions and student progress.

Staying current on best practices in school counseling and participating in professional development opportunities.
- Supporting the school community by promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
